China intends to cut all greenhouse gas emissions by 2060

first_img FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint分享Bloomberg:China’s pledge to be carbon neutral by 2060 includes all greenhouses gases, not just carbon dioxide, according to one of the country’s top climate researchers. He Jiankun, who chairs the academic committee at the Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development at Tsinghua University, made the clarification at a conference on Monday outlining China’s road map to reaching its goal. When President Xi Jinping told the United Nations about China’s new target last month, he didn’t specify if China would target just carbon dioxide — the most prevalent greenhouse gas — or others that also contribute to global warming such as methane, ozone and nitrous oxide. He also didn’t detail how China planned to achieve the target, though the government is expected to lay out some of those measures in its upcoming five-year plan for 2021 to 2025.In line with the target, China should announce more ambitious contributions to the Paris climate accord including reducing its carbon intensity by more than 65% from 2005 levels and aiming for a higher share of non-fossil fuel energy sources by 2030, He said. However, researchers at the conference laid out scenarios that showed even that plan wouldn’t put China on the path to keeping global warming within 2 degrees Celsius from pre-industrial levels, so China would have to scale up targets even more after 2030.More: China Aims to Cut All Greenhouses Gases by 2060, Researcher Says China intends to cut all greenhouse gas emissions by 2060last_img read more

US tycoon Friedkin completes 591-million euro Roma takeover

first_imgTopics : ‘Special club’ But the Boston-based businessman had been unpopular among club fans for his rare appearances in Italy and his handling of player transfers and the departures of club legends Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi who were both pushed out of the club.Roma have had recurring financial difficulties and been sanctioned by European football’s governing body UEFA for breaches of financial fair play.As a result the club are very active in the transfer market, regularly selling off their best players, to the chagrin of fans.Pallotta’s great project had been the construction of a new stadium in the south of the capital which was delayed because of legal and bureaucratic issues, and remains at the planning stage. The high-point of Pallotta’s reign was the club’s sensational Champions League 3-0 second leg comeback in 2018 to beat Barcelona, before losing to Liverpool in the semi-finals.Pallotta said: “I would like to wish Dan, Ryan and everyone at AS Roma – the players, the staff and the fans – only good luck for the future. “Like every Roma fan in the world, I truly hope The Friedkin Group can build on what we have done over the last eight years, transforming Roma into a truly international club, and take AS Roma to the next level. “This is an incredibly special football club and I leave with many unforgettable memories.”The club won their third Serie A title in 2001, but have not lifted any silverware since the Italian Cup in 2008.This season they finished fifth, missing out on elite European competition for the second year in a row.Friedkin told Roma fans: “We will stand shoulder to shoulder with you as we develop this club and challenge for trophies in the future.”We can’t wait to get to work and for our new season to start.” “As one fan wrote recently, ‘Take our iconic club and make it one of the greatest names in world football’.”We intend to do just that. Our commitment to Roma is total. We will be very present in Rome, a city that holds a special place in our hearts, as we embark on this exciting journey.”Our vision for the club and the team is to favor a sustainable and long-term investment approach rather than quick fixes.”We recognize that we have been entrusted with a team. which represents a vital part of the soul of Rome, and this is a responsibility that we will always take very seriously and humbly.” Houston-based Friedkin is the chief executive of a consortium notably involved in the automotive and hotel and entertainment industry. The Friedkin Group have through Romulus and Remus Investments LLC, purchased the 86.6 percent majority stake in Roma, and will launch a mandatory tender offer for the remaining 13.4 percent of share capital, the club said in a statement.Friedkin takes over from Pallotta as club chairman, in a new executive committee which includes his son Ryan, with Guido Fienga remaining on as CEO.Pallotta bought two-thirds of the club’s shares in 2012, but had 100 percent ownership since 2014. US billionaire Dan Friedkin on Monday promised to turn Roma into “one of the greatest names in world football” after completing his 591 million euros ($700 million) purchase of the Italian club.Friedkin, 54, takes over the Serie A side after nine-years under the ownership of fellow American James Pallotta, 62.”We are delighted to join the AS Roma family,” said Friedkin. last_img read more

Dungey proceeded to make a late hit out of bounds, shove two players and start a scrum on the sideline.Etta-Tawo, who recovered from a below-average past two games, reeled in 144 yards and a one-handed touchdown. Week 4 Fantasy Football TE Rankings

first_imgLISTEN TO THE SN FANTASY WEEK 4 PREVIEW PODCAST BELOWWeek 4 Fantasy TE RankingsThese rankings are for standard, non-PPR leagues.1Travis Kelce, KC @ DET2Zach Ertz, PHI @ GB3Evan Engram, NYG vs. WAS4Mark Andrews, BAL vs. CLE.  Andrews put up a Week 3 dud, catching just three passes for 15 yards. Lamar Jackson still targeted him seven times, though, including around the end zone on a few occasions where Jackson just threw bad passes. Cleveland was susceptible to tight end production last season and it allowed a pair of TE touchdowns in Week 1. Facing the Jets and Rams, two teams that don’t feature the TE, the past two weeks have inflated Cleveland’s numbers this season, but Andrews should bounce back in Week 4.5Darren Waller, OAK @ IND.  Waller seems to be pretty matchup-proof at this point. In a Week 3 game in which the Raiders offense struggled, Waller caught 13 passes for 134 yards. His low output so far was six catches for 63 yards. He needs to be in your fantasy lineup every week. 6Austin Hooper, ATL vs. TEN.  Hooper is averaging more than six catches per game this season, and he just caught two touchdowns in Week 3. He’s turned into Matt Ryan’s second-favorite target at the moment.7Will Dissly, SEA @ ARZ.  Arizona has allowed more fantasy points to tight ends than any other team in 2019. Dissly is also coming off two-straight weeks of at least five catches, 50 yards and a touchdown. This is the perfect time to plug Dissly into your lineup, as his usage is high and the matchup is ideal.8Vernon Davis, WAS @ NYG9O.J. Howard, TB @ LAR.  After zero Week 2 targets, Howard caught three-of-four looks for 60 yards in Week 3. His usage doesn’t seem like it’ll return to 2018 heights at this point, so his ceiling is a bit limited, especially against a good Rams defense. 10Greg Olsen, CAR @ HOU11Delanie Walker, TEN @ ATL12Eric Ebron, IND vs. OAK13T.J. Hockenson, DET vs. KC.  After a historic NFL debut, Hockenson has back-to-back weeks with one catch. The Chiefs have allowed more than 70 yards per game to tight ends this season, so maybe the rookie can get back on track while the Lions play catch up in Week 4.14Jared Cook, NO vs. DAL.  Cook received two Week 3 targets from Teddy Bridgewater and looks like a very tough fantasy start in New Orleans, especially with Drew Brees inactive, but Dallas has mostly struggled against TEs this year, so Cook has a hint of upside this week.15Jason Witten, DAL @ NO16Trey Burton, CHI vs. MIN17Irv Smith Jr., MIN @ CHI.  Smith has overtaken Kyle Rudolph as the pass-catching tight end in Minnesota. He equaled O.J. Howard’s three catches for 60 yards in Week 3. It’s probably not time to plug Smith in yet, especially against the Bears, but he could turn into a popular bye week fill-in going forward.18Jack Doyle, IND vs. OAK19James O’Shaughnessy, JAX @ DEN20Noah Fant, DEN vs. JAX21Jimmy Graham, GB vs. PHI22Kyle Rudolph, MIN @ CHI23Gerald Everett, LAR vs. TB.  Tampa has allowed the third-most fantasy points to tight ends in 2019. Everett didn’t do much even with Tyler Higbee absent in Week 3, but he’s a great athlete and former second-round pick. He’d fit the bill as a deep-league bye week replacement for Kittle.24Jordan Akins, HOU vs. CAR.  Akins is a large, athletic dude who used to play minor league baseball. He scored two touchdowns and had 73 yards on three Week 3 catches despite playing just 45 percent of offensive snaps. It was probably just an anomaly, but he might have one or two more games like that this season. 25Tyler Eifert, CIN @ PIT26Sean Culkin, LAC @ MIA.27Matt LaCosse, NE @ BUF28Mike Gesicki, MIA vs. LAC Bye weeks can sneak up on fantasy football owners, but they’re officially back in Week 4 with the 49ers and Jets taking the week off. No one is going to miss any of the Jets tight ends, but for one owner in every league, the 49ers being idle is a very big deal. That owner needs a fill-in for one of his or her top draft picks, George Kittle. They might not have even thought about the position since drafting Kittle, so some of the names in our Week 4 fantasy TE rankings might be unfamiliar. Hopefully you own a good backup or are crafty on the waiver wire because replacing Kittle’s production for this week will be difficult. The most prominent name who could be on your waiver wire is Seahawks TE Will Dissly. A week after catching five passes for 50 yards and two scores, Dissly reeled in six balls for 62 yards and a late garbage-time touchdown in Week 3. He gets a matchup with the Cardinals in Week 4, who have allowed the most fantasy points to TEs in 2019. Dissly would’ve been in consideration for our top 10 this week regardless of matchup after his two good weeks, but playing against Arizona is too good to pass up. WEEK 4 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | D/ST | KickerO.J. Howard owners have to be a little encouraged by his Week 3 usage after zero targets in Week 2. He received four targets, catching three for 66 yards. That’s still much-lower usage than Howard received last season, but it was good enough that you’ve got to run him out there in your fantasy lineup for another week. He’s still one of the most talented TEs in football.WEEK 4 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight endIt might be time to move on from Jared Cook, who was targeted twice by Teddy Bridgewater. He caught one pass for seven yards and had a bad drop on the other target. His usage was already down compared to 2018 in Oakland even when Drew Brees was healthy. Now that Bridgewater is playing QB, there are simply better options than Cook, though another favorable matchup on paper against the Cowboys makes him a real wild card.In Minnesota, the changing of the TE guard might be happening earlier than expected. While Kyle Rudolph continues to play heavy snaps, it’s rookie Irv Smith Jr. who has been the best receiving tight end for the Vikings so far. It’s not an overly intriguing passing system, but in deeper leagues or for owners still holding onto Rudolph, Smith’s three catches for 60 yards in Week 3 (compared to Rudolph’s one target) might be the way to go.WEEK 4 DFS LINEUPS:DK cash | DK GPP | FD cash | FD GPP | Y! cash | Y! GPPElsewhere in rookie tight end land, T.J. Hockenson has had two poor weeks after a big NFL debut. He could bounce back in a solid matchup against Kansas City in Week 4. His former Iowa teammate, Noah Fant, obviously has athleticism but doesn’t look to be a Year 1 fantasy option playing with Joe Flacco, though a favorable Week 4 matchup against the Jaguars makes him a sleeper in deeper formats and DFS contests.WEEK 4: Waiver pickups | FAAB planner | Trade values | Snap countsReminder: These rankings will be adjusted throughout week, so check back often for the latest updates and analysis! MORE WEEK 4 DFS: Top values | Stacks | Lineup Builderlast_img read more
